Joining the Telegram channel
The chat panel on your family page is a read-only mirror. To get native notifications when the coach posts (lock-screen buzz, sound), join the Telegram channel itself.
What is Telegram?
A free messaging app. Works like WhatsApp / iMessage. Available on iPhone, Android, and desktop. Your child’s coach runs a channel (one-way broadcast) per calendar.
You don’t need a Telegram account to read the chat panel on the family page — the page handles that automatically.
You only need a Telegram account if you want notifications via the Telegram app specifically (the coach’s posts buzz your phone through Telegram).
You can get notifications without Telegram by enabling phone push on your family page or by leaving the daily email digest on. Many parents skip Telegram entirely and use just push + email.
Install Telegram
- Open the App Store.
- Search for “Telegram”.
- Install Telegram Messenger (the official app by Telegram FZ-LLC).
- Open it. Sign up with your phone number when prompted.
- Open Google Play.
- Search for “Telegram”.
- Install Telegram (official by Telegram FZ-LLC).

Optional — most parents only need it on their phone. If you want desktop too:
- Visit
telegram.orgin any browser. - Download the desktop app for your OS (Mac / Windows / Linux).
- Sign in by scanning a QR code from your phone’s Telegram.
Join the channel
- On your family page, scroll to the chat card for your calendar (Age Class / Ability / FIS).
- Tap Open in Telegram →.
- Telegram opens with a “Join” button (if you haven’t joined yet) or just shows the channel (if you have).
- Tap Join. Done.
You’ll start seeing coach posts in the Telegram app — and getting phone push for each one. (Disable Telegram notifications on a per-channel basis from inside Telegram if it gets too noisy.)
Multiple calendars
Each calendar has its own channel. If your kids are in multiple calendars, you can join each channel separately. The Open-in-Telegram link is per-card.
Privacy
Telegram channels are private (admin-broadcast only). Your phone number isn’t visible to other channel members; only your display name is. Read more in Privacy.
